Meet the Captain!
As a kid growing up in a farm-to-table restaurant Morgan was inspired at an early age by the beauty and bounty of the Pacific Northwest. His family loved going on camping trips to the coast led by his Mom cooking over the campfire. Other early memories include driving to local farms with his Dad to gather fresh produce and meat, to juicing carrots with siblings on milk crates. At the iconic Urban Onion restaurant in Olympia, Washington his family created favorites like the chicken salad haystack on just baked Herb and Onion Bread, and Jimmy’s red lentil soup. Bike adventures took him all over the city to places like Big Tom’s Burgers and planted the seed in him to travel to France, Morocco and beyond in search of more exciting food and culture. From there Morgan journeyed overseas to live the Maui lifestyle and got a taste for fish fresh from the ocean, training in craft beer making and the fine points of world class dining. The pull of the PNW called to him and he landed in Portland, OR to round off his expertise in restauranturing. With Willamette Valley pinot vineyards in his backyard he got to explore the art of wine pairing and table service. From fascinating food carts, bountiful restaurants and creative craft cocktail joints, Morgan got to work in the heart of the great Portlandia food movement. For his passion in event planning, with the companionship of his favorite culinary partner Bailey, his now 12-year-old son, they made the move to LA.
